Uno spettacolo sorprendente e altamente suggestivo che, se da un lato vuole celebrare l'antichissima e vitale tradizione marittima veneziana, dall'altro intende porre l'attenzione sui rischi che sta correndo Venezia. Nulla, in Red Regatta, è stato lasciato al caso: tutte le vele sono state realizzate su misura per ciascuna imbarcazione, ogni sfumatura di colore è stata predisposta da Melissa McGill che ha poi dipinto a mano i tessuti, aiutata dagli studenti dello Iuav. Infine ciascuna barca, dal fondo piatto e con albero rimovibile, è un modello.
