Mass Market Paperback. Condizione: Good. First Paperback Edition. First UK paperback edition. Number 3 in the Toucan Novels series. 30th thousand stated on the front cover with the first eight titles in the series on the back cover. Probably the first printing. Originally published in hard covers in 1934. The author also published crime novels under the name Anne Hocking. Quite rare in any early edition. The spine has some reading creasing, staining and light chipping at the top and bottom. Browning to the white panel on the front cover but otherwise only light surface wear to the covers. Browning to the page edges. The covers are pulling away from the text block at the front of the book but the binding is secure enough. The insides of the covers have a little browning. Quite a bit of brown spotting to the first and last pages both of which have small circular holes torn in them where the page has been stuck to the inside of the cover and there is also a little edge tearing to these pages. The pages are browned but are otherwise unmarked.

Hardcover. Condizione: Poor/Fair. 1st Edition. An uncommon 1936 true first edition of Mona Messer's elusive pre-war novel Life Owes Me Something. This volume is undated on the title page as issued, cleanly identified by the original publisher's comprehensive 1936 catalogue at the rear. Soiling to blue boards, tear along joint with spine on rear cover, rear hinge cracked, starting hinge at front, but binding of text block remains firm, owner's name on ffep, pages otherwise unmarked, dedication page torn out but text block intact, catalogue at rear, lacks dust jacket. An exceptionally scarce, unrecorded copy perfectly suited for collectors of 1930s British middlebrow fiction and pseudonymous Golden Age crime authors. Dispatched from the UK same or next working day.
