Interior pages are generally clean with some age-related foxing. The original folding color lithograph is present and remains vivid and complete, with two substantial tears extending inward from the outer edge along separate fold lines and into the printed image; the torn sections remain attached, and no portions appear missing. The original dust jacket is in Poor condition with extensive edge wear, chipping, creasing, tears, and paper loss, particularly along the lower front panel. This 1968 first-edition English-language monograph examines the work of Israeli artist Moshe Castel and was published by Éditions du Griffon as part of the Plastic Arts of the Twentieth Century series. It features an introduction by Michel Tapié de Celeyran, a study by Howard Morley Sachar, additional texts and quotations by noted art critics and writers, and numerous color and black-and-white illustrations. Accompanying Goldman's Art Gallery ephemera includes illustrated foldout gallery catalogues featuring works by Castel and other artists, promotional material for Castel's In the Beginning portfolio of six original embossed etchings, a gallery envelope, and a handwritten 1981 receipt issued to Burton Brooks that appears to document the purchase of a Castel lithograph or portfolio. The receipt does not specifically identify this monograph, and the separate artwork and six-print portfolio are not included.
