Half-Leather. Condizione: Good. Condizione sovraccoperta: No Dustjacket. xxiii + 828 pages including appendix + 1 page index. Front outer hinge is cracked 80% down from top, inner hinge sound but needs attention. Green floral embossed boards, mid/light brown leather to spine, hinges & corners, spine cross-banded with ornate swirling gilt decoration. Wear with some fraying/chippingto bottom spine-end, heavy wear with splits/small chips to top spine-end which has pulled away fron surface at top 1cm. Some rubbing/lightening to spine, rubs & tears to top surface of hinge areas , heavy wear through to card at corners which are rubbed. Very attractive vivid green marbling to end-papers & page-edges to match. No dustjacket. Light brown blothing to prelims & frontispiece & rear free end-papers, ink name & referene to flyleaf rear. Pages have a light wave to pages. which o/w in clean & in nice condition. Text block binding & rear hinges are very sound. Half-title pages dated 1839, title-page dated 1840. A worn but attractive old copy.
