Signed by the author ''Collie D Middleton'' on title page and with a lengthy inscription on f/ep signed Laura D Foster (her real name). The author, who worked as a schoolteacher, was born in Paisley in 1911 and was a longtime resident of Fredonia NY, died aged 98 in Jamestown NY in 2010.
