This notebook was found in a mixed lot of manuscripts bought at auction in 1935, and has been edited and annotated for publication. The editors…have supplied information not noted by Mill, followed by a helpful precís of the works listed. Since much of the material Mill puy in his notebook was not signed, or was written under a pseudonym, this bibliography is able to attribute to him many items of previously unknown origin.
