Niemand scheint für seine Entstehung verantwortlich zu sein,…auch kein Mitglied der auf der anderen Seite wohnenden Familie Nolde. Sämtliche Beteiligten zeigen sich vom plötzlichen Zerbröseln der gewohnten Barriere dermaßen verblüfft, dass ihnen erstmal nichts Besseres einfällt, als den Schaden zu kaschieren, anstatt etwas über seine Ursache herauszufinden oder ihn gar zu beheben. Mit dem fortschreitenden Verfall der Wohnzimmerwand wird auch der Zustand der Überforderung immer intensiver. Bald ist da im Grunde nur noch ein Loch, das Einblicke in beide Richtungen erlaubt. Was ehemals Privaträume waren, verwandelt sich in eine Art doppelte Stegreifbühne, auf der sich der Wunsch nach der vermissten Abgeschiedenheit mit dem komplizierten neuen Zustand eines Miteinander-Auskommens mischt. In der wechselseitigen Beobachtung spiegeln sich die Protagonist:innen samt all ihrer alltäglichen Bedürfnisse, Fehleinschätzungen und Unzulänglichkeiten, die mit viel Sinn für Situationskomik ausgekostet werden. War nicht vielleicht doch jemand nachts auf der 'anderen' Seite zugange, ist möglicherweise ein Liebhaber im Spiel oder sollten beide Seiten die Situation nicht sogar akzeptieren und künftig als WG leben Mit dieser vermeintlich einzigen Abweichung vom Normalzustand - einer schwindenden Wand - erzeugt Hanno Millesi eine Erzählsituation, die wie nebenbei Einsichten in gegenwärtige gesellschaftliche Zustände ermöglicht. Rainer, der gerade eine Trennung hinter sich hat und sich beruflich eine Auszeit nimmt, versucht beständig, sich eine tragfähige Einschätzung seiner surrealen Gegenwart zu erhalten. Er tut dies, indem er anhand seines Nachrichtenkonsums die 'wirklichen' Probleme von den scheinbaren zu unterscheiden versucht. Die zunehmende Unfähigkeit, sich ein adäquates Bild der näheren Umgebung zu machen, wird so durch die unsichere Weltlage noch weiter irritiert, obwohl die wahren Bedrohungen denkbar weit entfernt anmuten. Hanno Millesis so unaufgeregtes wie unterhaltsames Kammerspiel steuert zielsicher auf eine Klimax zu, in der sich die individuelle Unfähigkeit, sich ein Bild von einer überkomplexen Welt zu machen, lustvoll mit gesellschaftlichen Problemlagen vermischt - mit Vereinzelung, dem Schwinden der Korrektive und der überfordernden Flut an Informationen. Zur Zeit der Schneefälle ist eine fein gezeichnete Parabel auf die Überforderungen im digitalen Biedermeier unserer Gegenwart. 232 pp. Deutsch.

Females have up to three litters per season and under favourable conditions both males and females are sexually mature in their first year. The ability to cache food changes the… need for fattening prior to hibernation and consequently can alter the pattern of reproductive activity. The Common Hamster has lived in agricultural areas in close association with humans for centuries. During the last few decades, the loss of suitable habitats and modern agriculture technology have brought the species close to extinction in many areas. It has thus been listed as a highly threatened species in several European countries. Preventative measures require detailed knowledge about the biology of the species and a "hamster-friendly" management scheme in agricultural areas. In this volume, contributions made at the 13th Meeting of the International Hamster Workgroup have been summarized. Studies investigating burrow architecture, population dynamics, predation pressure, life span and reproductive activity underline the environmental flexibility of the species. The results of conservation programs are presented and discussed. Reports of breeding regimes with selected light-dark-cycles that can be used to optimize reproductive output and may benefit reintroduction projects have also been included. Generally the presented results should help broaden our knowledge about the Common Hamster and promote international networks to plan, implement, coordinate and evaluate management programs. The Common Hamster is a fascinating species that differs from other hibernating small mammals in several aspects. Females have up to three litters per season and under favourable conditions both males and females are sexually mature in their first year.
