Hardcover. Condizione: Fair. Condizione sovraccoperta: No Dust Jacket. The book is a bit rough, leather spine, cloth boards. Boards have some paint spots and rubbing on the front, some scratches on the back with rubbing, spine ends and corners somewhat worn, spine gilt intact. Front gutter split. I found an occasional rare pencil mark or note in the pages, a couple of torn pages, occasional turned or chipped corner, a little light soiling inside. So, almost good but not quite.

Aggiungi al carrelloPaperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book offers a comprehensive exploration of projective geometry, a branch of mathematics concerned with the properties of geometric figures that remain unchanged under projection. The author guides readers through fundamental concepts such as cross-ratios, harmonic division, and the principle of duality, demonstrating how these principles provide a powerful framework for understanding geometric relationships. Emerging from the study of perspective in Renaissance art and further developed in the 17th and 18th centuries, projective geometry revolutionized geometric thinking by emphasizing the invariance of properties under projection. This book delves into the rich history and applications of projective geometry, covering topics such as conic sections, reciprocation, and the properties of complete quadrangles and quadrilaterals. Through clear explanations and numerous examples, the author illuminates the connections between seemingly disparate geometric concepts. Readers will gain a deeper appreciation for the elegance and power of projective geometry and its ability to unify various branches of mathematics. This book unveils the profound insights of projective geometry, demonstrating its ability to reveal hidden connections and provide a framework for understanding the invariant properties of geometric figures. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.

Aggiungi al carrelloTaschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. Neuware - 'A First Course in the Calculus' serves as a foundational pedagogical text designed to introduce students to the essential principles of mathematical analysis. Written by William P. Milne and G.J.B. Westcott, this work emphasizes a practical and intuitive approach to understanding the fundamental concepts of differentiation and integration. The authors prioritize clarity and application, ensuring that the transition from algebraic reasoning to the complexities of calculus is bridged with structured logic and illustrative examples. The book covers a broad range of topics, including the gradient of a curve, rates of change, and the application of integral calculus to areas and volumes. By focusing on both the theoretical underpinnings and the mechanical execution of mathematical problems, 'A First Course in the Calculus' provides a rigorous yet accessible framework for learners. It remains a significant historical example of early 20th-century mathematics education, reflecting the pedagogical standards of its era while offering timeless insights into the mechanics of change and motion.
