The top edge is missing a piece approximately 3" x 7" and I don't know how much further is would have gone. The top part of the tree goes to 1,000 A.D. Former owner name on the front free end paper. The covers are very loose, but are still attatched.

Spine heavily rubbed. Edges heavily worn. Light dampstain in the front. Otherwise, the text block is itself secure, and the pages are foxed but clean. A scarce volume, one of the best-known works by the English Catholic bishop John Milner, who was controversial in his day. American Imprints 20743. Finotti p. 196.
