Signed by both authors on the limitatin page.One of several pioneering works on silver design and manufacture, the book was written by Minnie Cutten and her husband George Barton Cutten (1874 - 1962) - Canadian-American historian, psychologist, author, philosopher, and President of Acadia University and Colgate University. After accepting the presidency at Colgate, he would become known for altering its admission policy to prevent African-American and Jewish students from entering the university.His letter, typed and signed on Colgate University stationary, was addressed to Henry Wilson of Syracuse, New York - a renowned jeweler, who had opened his first store in 1918 and whose business, still thriving today, would become a landmark in downtown Syracuse.

Minnett's novel contributed to the 'Pax Aeronautica' sub-genre.The work of Australian born actress Minnie Warren Jones, who wrote under the name Cora Minnett. Research suggests that Minnett was a confidence artist, falsely selling non-existent plots of Australian land to English victims.With the stamp of the Wright Lending Library of York to the front pastedown, and with a number of withdrawal inscriptions. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Bumping to spine head and tail, with light fading to back strip, and a spot to the head of the rear board. Spotting to fore edge of text block. Library stamp and extensive inscriptions to front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright, with instances of spotting throughout, most concentrated to first and last few leaves. George Washington Morrison Nutt (1848-81) and Minnie Warren Bump (1842-78) were famous little persons who toured the U.S. and overseas with Barnum & Bailey; Nutt served as best man at the wedding of his friend, midget Charles "Tom Thumb" Stratton, and Warren was the sister of the bride, little person Lavinia Warren. Uncommon carte-de-visite photograph, 2½" X 4", New York, NY, n.y. [ca. 1865]. Very good. Mild age toning and slightest bit of wear. Title cited above bottom margin of recto. With a gilt double rule is a 2 1/8" X 3 1/8" albumen full-length portrait showing Nutt and Warren side by side. Center of verso bears the decorative backstamp of E. & H.T. Anthony ("Manufacturers / of the best / Photographic Albums"), "From / Photographic Negative / By Brady." Above are facsimile printed signatures of Nutt and Warren. A most handsome and rather uncommon Brady image.
