Wobei der Staat nicht eigentlich "verschwindet", wie Misik meint, sondern sich nur mehr umgestaltet, seiner sozialen Sicherungssysteme entkleidet und sich zunehmend autoritärer gebärdet. Von an…deren Büchern zum Thema unterscheidet sich dieses dadurch, dass Misik den quasi-religiösen Aspekt der Globalisierungs-Ideologie herausarbeitet. Gerade vor dem Hintergrund der weltweiten, von skrupellosen Investmentbankern und Hedge-Fonds-Managern herbeigeführten Banken- und Finanzkrise 2008 verdient dieses Buch seine Beachtung, ist das wirtschaftsliberale Dogma doch so brüchig geworden, dass sich selbst die Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung davon abwendet (und z.B. am 8.10. äussert, eine "neue Geschichte" müsse her) und Banken verstaatlicht werden. Ist der Kapitalismus nicht flexibel genug, jede Systemkritik nicht nur zu integrieren und zu korrumpieren, sondern gar noch als neues Wachstumsse…gment nutzbar zu machen? Misik sieht dies differenziert, jedoch nicht ohne Hoffnung: "Gewiss hat der Kapitalismus mit den Rebellen gut zu leben gelernt. Aber es sind doch auch diese rebellischen Impulse, die ihn verändern. Er hat die Einsprüche zu integrieren gelernt; das ist seine grosse Stärke. Aber, wer weiss, womöglich gibt es doch auch subversive Energien, denen der paradoxe Raum der herrschenden Ordnung nicht die Spitze zu nehmen vermag" (S.17). Und er empfiehlt: "Manchmal ein bisschen zu weit zu gehen, anstatt stets allzu kurz zu treten. Neugierig zu sein, was daraus entsteht. Auszuhalten, dass man im voraus nicht so genau weiss, wohin der Weg führt. Risiken und Nebenwirkungen müssen in Kauf genommen werden - da helfen weder Arzt noch Apotheker. So ist die Welt - kein göttlicher Heilsplan, sondern eine Versuchsanordnung" (S.186). Gramm 600.
