A scarce collection of literature by the Misses Corbett, the joint literary name for sisters Walterina Cunningham (d. 1837) and Grace Corbett (d. 1843). First published in 1826 in Britain, this volume was repeatedly reprinted, including in the United States. An interesting literary anthology by a pair of female authors.

The Misses Corbett (Grace Corbett and Walterine Corbett Cunningham) were two sisters who wrote the stories in "The Odd Volume" and "The Odd Volume Second Series" and also other books and plays. Some of the stories: "The Mysterious Invalid", "The Lantern In The Castle Yard", "The Devil's Own", "Beware Of What You Say Before Children". This particular book "The Odd Volume" was immensley popular, one of the publishers requested more than 700 copies to keep up with the demand and this copy is a stated SECOND EDITION. Extremely SCARCE in any edition.
