Binding sound and contents clean with no marks. Diaganol stress crease to the first page. Color toned photos throughout. VG-.

Condizione: Poor-fair. Benn Mitchell (illustratore). Chicago: Rand McNally, 1953. The cover of this book has been mended with yellowing adhesive tape because back cover at spine is torn. Some moisture staining on back cover as well. Text is unmarked, there is a corner fold to one page and a small bump to the bottom corner of the pages' edges. However there is a large chip to the last page at the bottom spine and a tear up near the spine. It measures about 2" x 3" but most of the illustration is okay, basically just the chimp's blanket in the illustration. While the condition of the cover and last page of this book is dire, the text is very readable. Poor-fair. Illus. by Benn Mitchell.

First Edition Hardcover with DJ, 444 pp. Important book in the Koontz oeuvre. Involves a serial killer and is a mix of mystery, psychological suspense, romance, and horror, and one of his most sought-after titles. The unclipped DJ is complete but shows some evidence of handling: a bit of scruffing, trace marks, a 1/8" tear at bottom of spine, mild edgewear, and one 4" long scratch on the back cover (which leaves just a faint trace on the underlying hardcover). The black cloth-covered boards show a few slight dents & wear along edges. There is a light "D" on the bottom of the text block (a remainder mark??). Overall, a very solid copy of an apparently scarce title.
