This book delves into the rich history of the Penobscot Valley in the state of Maine, with a particular focus on the Native American tribes that inhabited the region. The author explores the complex interactions between these tribes and the encroaching Anglo-Saxon settlers, shedding light on the often conflicted and tragic events that shaped the region's past. Drawing from a wealth of historical sources, the book provides an in-depth examination of the Native American way of life, their cultural practices, and the impact of colonization on their communities.
