In addition to the original supplement, with which the book was issued, also laid in is an English-language booklet entitled "Architectural Institute of Japan, Japan Architects Association, and Japan Federation of Architects and Building Engineers Associations" (1958). This second booklet purports to explain the structure and organization of these three distinct groups, likely produced to explain this complex ecosystem to international visitors and delegates. On the book: "This is a collection of architectural pictures published in commemoration of the 5th anniversary of the foundation of the Tokyo Society of Architects & Building Engineers. The scars of the World War II . . . were severe beyond imagination. Post-war Tokyo, however, has shown rapid progress in rehabilitation.
