Traducido del holandes por C. Stibbe. Anthony Ewoud Ene Modderman ( Winschoten , 27 de de septiembre de 1838 - La Haya , 7 de agosto de 1885 ) fue un holandés político . Modderman, hijo del parlamentario liberal Enrique Jacob Herman Modderman y Adriana Sibilla Catharina Emmen, era un liberal especialista en derecho penal, Ministro de Justicia. Era muy joven profesor en Ámsterdam y el Curriculum de los seis años de la Universidad de Leiden. Era más de un erudito que un político. Pasó incluir la Ley de Bebidas Alcohólicas y la Ley de Propiedad Intelectual establecida. Su principal logro, sin embargo, fue la adopción de un nuevo Código Penal. En la preparación, que tenía como miembro de una comisión estatal que ya jugó un papel importante. Su tesis en 1863 se dedicó a la reforma de la ley penal.
