The Wildlife of Bangladesh-A checklist and guide is the new edition of the orig…inal book that was published in 1982 as the foremost and comprehensive collection of wildlife of Bangladesh with not just names, but field illustrations and photographs, and details of animals that has been of utmost benefit to academics, researchers, students, policy-makers and other stakeholders. In its third decade, this new edition includes almost all species of amphibians, reptilians, birds and mammalians known to exist in Bangladesh. This includes 63 amphibians, 174 reptiles, 711 birds, and 133 mammals. Alongside the list of wildlife, this book also contains the Bengali names of animals, with special attention to their physical characteristics in order to help users with field identification. Overall, 240 additional species have been included in this new list. The original book, after being published in 1982, inspired and became the basis for several wildlife books by local and international researchers and authors. The new edition of the Wildlife of Bangladesh-A Checklist and Guide promises to further the minimal wealth of information currently available in written form on Bangladesh wildlife and enrich the existing collection of books in the country with its comprehensiveness and illustrations.

A powerful spectral-based phase-resolved direct simulation scheme is also formulated, which is well suited for simulations over long spatial ranges as well as for taking into account high orders of nonlinearity. The book's second part discusses wave generation and propagation by a moving disturbance in stratified fluids. Techniques from the first part are used to demonstrate how stratification and nonlinearity can contribute to a significantly different surface/interface wave pattern about the disturbance. Presented techniques and results are of particular interest to ocean and coastal scientists and engineers. 256 pp. Englisch.
