It therefore makes use of the hermeneutic art as a means for understanding the film versions of the selected works as an act of interpretation. In view of that, studying the examples of the adaptations to the selected literary narratives help students to interpretively practice comprehension skills by comparing and contrasting the movie to the novel for understanding the meaning and the truth of this novel. Accordingly, the main intention of the present study in adopting this interpretive comparative approach is to support the idea that narrative prose fiction and narrative film fiction are complementary to each other and film study in turn could and should be a vital component in studying literature.
