Paperback. Condizione: Good. Original map, on contemporary 18th century laid paper, with chain lines visible, approximately 10 7/8 x 8 5/8 inches, black ink. Very good. Lightly age tanned, two vertical folds, left side edge a bit irregularly trimmed, 1/4 inch nick and corresponding crease on top edge, approximately 2x2x3 inch faint water (? ) stain on upper right corner, with 4 lesser ones on top edge, an approximately 3 inch long fairly light ochre pencil line on map itself, otherwise clean, unmarked and rather nice overall. One of the most noted mapmakers of his time, Herman Moll (1654-1732) emigrated from his native Germany to England, where he thrived, producing maps for Daniel Defoe and Jonathan Swift, andwas a friend of some of the leading fgures of the day, such as the scientist Robert Boyle and William Dampier.
