The cover story gives a celebratory history and description of Aramco's Ras Tanura oil refinery: "a wartime baby grown to maturity, [it] processed its billionth barrel of crude oil this year". Other content includes a description of Bahrain with photos of fishing, BAPCO installations, and development; a history of fortresses (including that at Hofuf); the Golden Age of Muslim medicine; Queen Zenobia of Palymyra; and prairies.
