Trotz dieser gemeinsamen Basis fallen die Programme der beiden Länder in den Kinder- und Jugendsendungen s…ehr unterschiedlich aus, auch ihre pädagogische Rolle ist anders. Bei den koreanischen Sendungen für junge Zuschauer, besonders bei denen für Kinder, ist seit Jahrzehnten keine bemerkenswerte Entwicklung festzustellen, weder im Hinblick auf die Variationsbreite pädagogischer Konzepte noch in der Sicht auf ästhetische Vorstellungen. Das gilt aber nicht für andere Fernsehgenres. Dabei ist zu berücksichtigen, dass Kinder- und Jugendsendungen nur wenig von den Anstalten unterstützt werden, auch nicht von den entsprechenden wissenschaftlichen Gremien. Dagegen weisen mehrere deutsche Kindersendungen, besonders die der à ffentlich-rechtlichen Anstalten, in pädagogischer und ästhetischer Hinsicht Weltniveau auf und stehen qualitativ hà her als manche kommerzielle Sendungen aus den USA. Daher wird in dieser Arbeit gefragt, warum trotz ähnlicher Basis in der Erziehung die Unterschiede so groà sind. AuÃerdem wird der Frage nachgegangen, warum viele deutsche und europäische Sendungen in Korea bzw. in Asien selten gezeigt werden, stattdessen laufen kommerzielle Sendungen geringerer Qualität aus anderen Teilen der Welt über die Bildschirme. Weiter wird erläutert, wie die durch ähnliche und kontrastierende Strukturen in Politik und Gesellschaft in beiden Ländern verursachten Probleme und pädagogischen Fragen in den Sendungen aufgegriffen werden. Es werden Informationen über die für jede Gesellschaft gültigen Werte vermittelt, die mit der Pädagogik und durch die Erziehung erreicht werden sollen. Asiatische und europäische Philosophie und Ãsthetik sind selbstverständlich darin eingeschlossen. Noch wichtiger aber ist der Wunsch, die Welt der Asiaten und die Welt der Europäer einander näher zu bringen und Wege zu bahnen für einen aktiven Kulturaustausch zwischen Ost und West. Prof. Dr. D. Baacke: "Im Zeitalter der sogenannten Globalisierung gibt es immer noch viele Lücken in unserem Wissen über Medien, ihre Programme und ihre Genres. Um so verdienstvoller ist diese Arbeit, die - übrigens zum ersten Mal - zugleich gründlich und voller Details eine spannende Begegnung berichtet: Entwicklung, Konzeption und derzeitige Wirklichkeit von Kinder- und Jugendprogrammen im koreanischen Rundfunk (insbesondere Fernsehen), verglichen mit Programmen aus der deutschen Kultur.
