A solid, complete copy in good condition with fraying, soiling, and general wear to boards and edges, hinges are repaired and tight. No book plates or writing in this copy! An interesting book, honoring our fighting men after the Spanish-American War. Much about the Rough Riders, Teddy Roosevelt, battles etc. Of particular interest is the first hand account by William Bulling, describing the death of Captain William "Bucky" O'Neill. Bulling was the man who caught him as he fell to the ground mortally wounded. O' Neill, a favorite son, became memorialized in the Territory of Arizona when a statue of him was dedicated in Prescott on July 3, 1907. This is an excellent historian/researcher copy and is priced accordingly. …

Covers exhibit light wear, fraying and bumping to corners and spine ends. Light soiling and wear to edges. Light soiling and shelf wear to covers. Includes a large folded map showing the battles fought in the battle. It is torn at the creases but still bright. Text is yellowed due to age. There are many b&w illustrations some full page. In the front of the book there are full page color illustrations of the different ships used during the war. All in very good condition. Inside front hinge is cracked and still attached. "A graphic account of the destruction of the battleship "Maine", Dewey's great victory at Manila; sinking of the Spanish fleet at Santiago; battles of San Juan and El Caney; surrender of Santiago; invasion of Porto Rico, and the end of the war." Has lots of magnificent engravings and 8 different cruisers, battleships etc. of the US during the Spanish-American War. Very nicely illustrated throughout. Marbled look on all page edges. A nice book showing some edge wear, bumped and frayed corners and spine edges. Darkening and fading on the boards. Slight staining and soiling. It really is a nice old book.…

The pages are all solidly attached with age toned edges. A few pages have random spots, light stains, creases, and chips. The lower corner tips are eroded or chewed away about midway to the end.
