Nach dem Medizinstudium war M. 1912 Assistenzarzt in München und kurzzeitig praktischer Arzt in Bad Kreuznach. 1913 Promotion und Tätigkeit als Schiffsarzt, 1914 Übernahme einer Praxis in Dietzenbach, 1915 Chirurg und Leiter eines Seuchenlazaretts an der westfront. Nach kriegsende ließ sich M. in Berlin als Spezialist für Elektrotherapie und Urologie nieder und wurde Prominentenarzt.
