Illustrated pale green boards w/gilt spine lettering/VG; strong & sound w/rubs to edges, corner tips and surfaces; showing light discoloration. DJ/None as Issued. Slip-case/None. Maps to endpapers. American historian, Rear Admiral Samuel Eliot Morison (1887 - 1976) authored several works on maritime history. Winner of two Pulitzer Prizes, one of which was for "Admiral of the Ocean Sea: A Life of Christopher Columbus" (1942), which was followed by a briefer biography, "Christopher Columbus, Marine (1955). The documents begin those establishing Columbus' birth date through the four voyages mades. Illustrated with map and woodcuts, with a convenient Chronology. Excellent primary resource. Strong copy less slip-case. Lima de Freitas (Illustrator) (illustratore). …
