Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. Neuware - 'Seed of Abraham' is a compelling exploration of Jewish history and identity through the lives of its most influential figures. Written by the distinguished Rabbi Morris S. Lazaron, this work provides a series of insightful biographical sketches that trace the spiritual and intellectual tr…ajectory of the Jewish people from biblical times to the early 20th century. Through the stories of prophets, philosophers, poets, and leaders-ranging from Moses and David to Maimonides, Spinoza, and Herzl-Lazaron illuminates the enduring values and resilience that have defined the Jewish experience. The book examines how these individuals shaped not only Jewish thought but also the broader course of human civilization. Lazaron's prose is both scholarly and accessible, offering readers a profound understanding of the ethical and cultural contributions of Judaism. 'Seed of Abraham' serves as a testament to the continuity of the Jewish spirit and remains a significant contribution to religious and historical literature. This collection is an essential resource for those interested in the intersections of biography, theology, and the lasting impact of Jewish heritage on the world stage. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it. Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. Neuware - 'Seed of Abraham: Ten Jews of the Ages' is a profound collective biography that explores the lives and legacies of ten pivotal Jewish figures who have left an indelible mark on history. Spanning various eras and disciplines, the work profiles a diverse array of individuals-from biblical pr…ophets and medieval philosophers to modern statesmen and thinkers-examining how their unique contributions helped define the Jewish experience and influenced the broader trajectory of human civilization.Through detailed narratives, the work investigates the spiritual convictions, intellectual breakthroughs, and personal challenges faced by these iconic figures. By tracing the development of Jewish thought and leadership through the centuries, the text provides a sweeping overview of a rich cultural heritage and the enduring resilience of a people. The portraits presented here are not merely historical accounts but are reflections on the moral and social values that have sustained the 'Seed of Abraham' throughout the ages. This volume serves as an insightful resource for readers interested in Jewish history, comparative religion, and biographical studies. It offers a compelling look at how the actions of a few can resonate across generations, shaping the identity and faith of millions. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it. The American Friends of the Middle East was founded in 1951 by journalist Dorothy Thompson, Kermit Roosevelt, Harry Emerson Fosdick among others, to promote peaceful relations between…the US and Arab countries. For this report, its Executive Vice President Garland Evans Hopkins invited three distinguished editors, a Catholic, a Protestant, and a Jew, to tour Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, Jordan, Israel and Turkey, and present their findings to US citizens through their own journals. Their contributions were published during December 1953 to January 1954, John Cogley's in the Commonweal, Harold Fey's in The Christianity Century, and Morris Lazaron's in the Jewish Newsletter. They are reprinted here each with its own cover page featuring the journal's logo, illustrated with drawings, and a full-page photo showing the editors checking their itinerary on a map with Hopkins. The articles deal with the state of the countries they visited, and cross-cutting issues relating to Arab-Israeli relations and the Cold War. The Foreword by William Cline, AFME's Director of PR, includes author biographies. There is also information about AFME itself. Scarce.
