Full tan speckled leather, black leather spine label with stamped gilt lettering and faux bands, 3 3/4 x 6 inches, 287 pp, in French (en francais) ; no illustrations. Hardcover, very good. Corners bumped, approximately half dozen or so 1/8th to 1/4 inch scrapes along side edge of front board, bit rubbed along edges of boards, 1 inch closed tear on front joint. Internally, 1/2 to 1 inch deep strip of paper torn off side edge of first free front endpaper, with a 2 inch tear along gutter there, inked out inscription of paste-down front endpaper, previous owner's signatures and gift inscription (Charles T Blake) , short poem (in pencil) on last free rear endpaper, a few dogears, moderate foxing throughout, ink drop marks on a dozen or so pages (text unaffected) , a few tears and chips on lower edges of six or seven leaves (text unaffected) , otherwise tight, clean, relatively crisp and unmarked.
