Woodburn (printer and publisher), 1885, presumed first edition (no mention of other printings), Original green cloth boards with gilt lettering and decoration on both front board and spine, beaveled edges, all foredges gilted, burgundy endpapers, about 10 ¼ X 6 ¾ inches, (ix) 288 pages, errata sheet inserted at p. 4, illustrated with 9 color plates (chromo-lithographs) + the author's portrait as frontispice, all protected with tissue paper. Cover is fine, showing only some very minor wear or rubbing to lower edges. Interior is very fine ; clean, solidly bound, without any noticeable wear or flaw except a thin crack to front endpaper hinge (without any effect on solidity). Obviously all plates are present and in excellent condition. All protective tissue guards are present too without any noticeable wear. Overall a very nice copy of this scarce book.
