Book is good only: wear to covers, especially at edges; front illustration is clean and bright; gift inscription in beautiful script on front endpaper; first three pages are included, but detached; remainder of text is clean, tight and solid, no writing, no smudges.…

Blue boards; light bumping at spine ends; pictorial front board with "Watty Piper" credit at bottom center (although he is not credited upon the title page). Slight foxing to edges; interior pages are clean. Binding is firm. A very good+ copy in a good+ dust jacket. Front flap states "There are over 40 illustrations in full color by Eulalie, 21 of which are full-page drawings" (with latter being, save for the frontispiece, all on rectos). Title page specifies copyright for both 1950 and 1953.…

ONCE UPON A TIME (Star No. 1067): some rust to lower binding staple, short tears at spine ends; features three short tales - "Sleeping Beauty" (pages 2-5), "Puss In Boots," and "Babes in the Wood." THE THREE BEARS (Star No. 1070): short tear at lower spine fold. LONG AGO STORIES (Star No. 1091): fractional loss at top corners at spine head, tearing and surface scuffing along spine fold; features two short tales - "Tom Thumb" and "The Sleeping Beauty" (pages 7-16) with the latter being an extended version of that in the preceding Star No. 1067 but sharing three of the same illustrations.
