Board edges and corners are rubbed. Top edge gilt. Fore-edge rough cut. Sewn binding tight and solid. Former owner name on paste-down. Rear endpapers have brownish spotting at lower hinge. Very attractive design with red script headings; each page in the stories has the book title in red on the verso and the story title on the recto, with large margins; illustrations at the beginning of each story, titled in red lettering, each specially prepared for this edition. Paper is heavy, pages quite clean, no markings of any kind.
