Here Lewis concentrates upon a single event - the death of their maternal aunt Guadalupe - and constructs the account primarily from interviews with Manuel, Roberto, and Consuelo Sanchez. The narrative proceeds through three sections, The Death, The Wake, and The Burial, allowing the siblings to relate the same experience through their individual perspectives. The second detail is the design. The copyright page credits Vincent Torre with the book's interior design, while the jacket specifically credits Muriel Nasser.
