Hardcover. Condizione: Near Fine. Condizione sovraccoperta: Very Good. 1st Edition. Not a book but a 12-inch, 33-1/3 rpm stereo vinyl LP, Sweet Folk SFA 087, near-mint vinyl in a "very good" cardboard jacket with a two-inch dampstain to bottom rear corner, said jacket signed in blue ballpoint to verso by (we presume) four members of the band. Steel guitarist Ray Kedge inscribes "All the Best" and signs; bass player (and co-producer) Derek Minton also signs. We're unable to decipher the other two signatures, though one first name is clearly "Byron," which doesn't match any of the five band members listed. Recorded at Mid Wales Sound Studios, Castle Caereinion, Powys, in January, 1978, the Muskrats would appear to represent the finest in Welsh Rockabilly, offering a fairly iconoclastic mix including Jimmy Buffett's "Margaritaville," Jim Croce's "I Had to Say I Loved You in a Song," Flatt & Scruggs "Rollin' In My Sweet Baby's Arms" (here as "Roll In My Sweet Baby's Arms"), Charlie Daniels' "Wichita Jail" (here as "Wichita County Jail,") and C. Calhoun's (Jesse Stone's) "Shake Rattle And Roll." (Attempts are now underway to re-introduce the Eurasian beaver -- castor fiber -- hunted (trapped?) to extinction in Wales in the Middle Ages, but while the North American muskrat has been widely introduced in much of northern Europe and Asia, we can find no evidence that there are currently any actual muskrats in Wales.) Reduced from $35. Signed by Author(s).
