Estimation of the system state (bus voltage magnitude and phase angle) is an essential and practical monitoring tool that has been widely used to estimate other required values for each quantity within energy management systems (EMS) in the control center. This book introduces a new approach based on the synchronized phasor measurement units (PMUs) to solve the power system state estimation problem and check the observability of the metering scheme. The results of state estimation are more accurate, when using phasor measurement units in the complex power systems.
