Thus, the purpose of this study was to explore whether the addition of computer assisted language learning (hereinafter: CALL) to traditional instruction would have a positive effect on Armenian EFL contexts. The effectiveness of this treatment was investigated through a pre-posttest quasi-experimental design. To enrich quantitative data, qualitative data was also collected. Although the treatment with CALL in this study did not produce statistically significant effects on increasing Armenian EFL learners overall level of language proficiency, students were more enthusiastic and autonomous in their learning towards the CALL than towards the traditional one. 76 pp. Englisch.

Ziel dieser Studie war es daher zu untersuchen, ob die Ergänzung des traditionellen Unterrichts durch computerunterstütztes Sprachenlernen (im Folgenden: CALL) einen positiven Effekt auf den armenischen EFL-Kontext hat. Die Wirksamkeit dieser Behandlung wurde durch ein quasi-experimentelles Prä-Posttest-Design untersucht. Um die quantitativen Daten zu bereichern, wurden auch qualitative Daten gesammelt. Obwohl die Behandlung mit CALL in dieser Studie keine statistisch signifikanten Auswirkungen auf die Steigerung des Gesamtniveaus der Sprachkenntnisse armenischer EFL-Lerner hatte, waren die Schüler gegenüber dem CALL enthusiastischer und autonomer in ihrem Lernen als gegenüber dem 'traditionellen'.Computer und das Internet sind im Bildungswesen im Allgemeinen und im Sprachunterricht im Besonderen so weit verbreitet, dass man sich veraltet und unwichtig fühlt, wenn man sie nicht nutzt.
