This is an important book as it describes Soochow in the 1930s before the war's damage.History of the city, then 6 Trips described to places of interest 24 black and white photos by C H Wong, five folding maps and coloured maps on the endpapers of the Waterways. Suzhou was renowned for its classical gardens, canals, bridges, and pagodas,many of which are photographed.The classical gardens are now a UNESCO World Heritage site. 76pp 18.5cm x 12.25cm Hardback.
