This is the most desireable (second) editon of the Merriam Webster unabridged dictionary, bound in dark brown leather, red marbled endpapers, printed on India (very thin) paper which reduces its thickness by half to around 3 inches, 3194pp. This is the 1953 version, printed in 1954, Only "good plus" condition due to heavy wear at the top of spine and rubbing mostly on edges of spine, binding very slightly split at page xxxi but not loose, a few of the first India paper pages are wrinkled (as is common), the page with Webster's biography is torn. Gold lettering on spine and front cover is clear and bright, all thumb tab labels are present, clean and with no marks or writing. Overall a fully functional copy with a couple of defects.
