Paperback. Condizione: new. Paperback. Being a really good writer involves looking deep into ourselves as well as others in order to understand human--our nature, our challenges, and our motivations. Often, we work out our own problems through the stories we tell. Our dreams provide essential clues to our deeper selves. Nelson's "soulful dream-writing practice" teaches readers how to "catch" their dreams and turn them into a treasure trove for personal growth as well as an endless source of writing material.Beginning with information about the different kinds of dreams we have, she offers a unique perspective on how to correlate our chakra issues with our dreams. She also shows readers how to recognize personal, mythic, and transpersonal themes in dreams. Often a dream seems to end leaving us wondering what it was all about, so Nelson introduces the Jungian technique of "active imagination," "drawing the dream material out in fantasy" to flesh out the dream and gain more insight.Throughout the book, Nelson provides writing exercises and helpful advice on the craft of writing, along with information on how other writers have used their dreams in their work. Our dreams provide clues to our deeper selves. Sally Nelson shows how to cultivate a dream/writing practice that allows us to capture energy coming in from a larger source than our own that enlightens our consciousness. She teaches the reader to turn dreams into a treasure trove for personal growth. Shipping may be from multiple locations in the US or from the UK, depending on stock availability.

Prima edizione
Fair condition - needs to be re-cased. Probable first edition (per OCLC - two other competing imprints also issued in 1897). 586 pages. Hardcover: H 23.75cm x L 19.25cm. No dust jacket. Original gray cloth soiled, rubbed, and stained; tears at frayed spine ends; board corners worn. Text block edges toned and soiled. Floral patterned pastedowns but missing both front and rear free endpapers; likely missing a front flyleaf or two as first leaf present is title/copyright; foxing and some soiling to interior leaves. Front and rear hinges quite shaken; several stress points to text block with several quires slightly pulled - book needs to be re-cased and sold as is. OCLC cites three 1897 editions - an Atlanta, GA imprint by H.C. Hudgins & Co. and two Richmond imprints by B.F. Johnson Publishing Co. and this Royal Publishing Company imprint. As the author was a Richmond, Virginia resident it is likely that the book was first published in Richmond but it is uncertain which Richmond publisher's edition has priority. Editor Robert A. Brock served with the 21st Virginia Infantry during the Civil War and served as secretary for the Virginia Historical Society as well as the Southern Historical Society. Please note that this thick book has an approximate shipping weight of 4.75 pounds (2.15 kg) and may require additional postage for any postal class other than domestic Media Mail.
