Small note handwritten in black ink on light beige paper and dated 1873 is laid in. 4 3/4" x 7." 309 pages, complete. Two additional pages in the back advertise "Books for the F…amily." Pages are virtually pristine and intact except for light age toning and occasional spots of foxing or discoloration. Covers are very clean and intact except for slight fading on spine, discoloration on front and back, slight wear to extremities, and a slight skew in the binding toward the fore-edge. Binding is tight. A Near Fine copy. An autobiographical, historical, and religious work that promotes the American Methodist Church. It contains autobiographical anecdotes by author and Methodist minster Newell Culver, discussion of Methodist teachings and principles, and a history of American Methodism's progress from about forty years ago to the present (based on the time of the book's publication in 1873).
