Housed in a custom full silk moire slipcase with gilt titles on a Nigerian goatskin label to the front panel. John Gierach (1946â"2024) was an American essayist whose writing helped define contemporary angling literature through its blend of humor, technical knowledge, and philosophical reflection. Best known for books such as 'Trout Bum' and 'Fishing Bamboo', he framed fly fishing as both a practical craft and a way of seeing, using rivers and landscapes to explore themes of solitude, friendship, aging, and environmental awareness.
