Loosely based on the 1979 French film directed by René Gainville, in turn based on Jenaro Prieto's 1928 novel. After years of struggling to succeed as a Black woman on Wall Street, an ambitious businesswoman decides to start her own investment firm in the name of a fictitious white man, Robert Cutty. The ruse begins to break down, however, when associates and clients begin to demand to meet with Cutty in person. Set and shot on location in New York.
