An account of the library, built up over 20 years, by Thomas Tresham (1543-1605) and made over to and preserved by his son-in-law, Thomas Brudenell (1578-1663). The Tresham library was one of the largest during this period, and included works on architecture, mathematics, astronomy and science, history, literature, classics and theology. An analysis and history of this library is followed by a 300-page catalogue with concordances and appendices.
