Paperback. Condizione: Used. The Laurens Janszoon Costerprijs (Dutch for Laurens Janszoon Coster Prize) is a Dutch award given to those who have made a contribution to the book and printing trades. The award is named after the purported Dutch inventor of movable type, Laurens Janszoon Coster (1370-1440). On December 14, 2007, th…e prize was given to Bram de Does for his significant achievements as a type designer. To mark the occasion, an illustrated 56-page booklet with Dutch essays by a slew of Dutch dignitaries was prepared. They allowed one English essay by one English dignitary: Sebastian Carter wrote about De Does's work as a private press printer and publisher. ALSO included is a keepsake printed by Bram de Does himself from his Kaba ornaments, Romanée, Rosart No. 811, and a historic blackletter cut by Henric Lettersnider. ALSO included is the invitation to the award ceremony, set in Lexicon and printed via offset. A sweet set-especially if you missed the event.
