The Nonotuck Silk Company was originally established as the North Hampton Silk Company. It developed from the efforts of Samuel Whitmarsh in Leeds and Florence, and was for a time operated by members of a utopian society active in abolitionism, of which Sojourner Truth was a member. After the commune dissolved, Samuel Hill ran the company as Nonotuck Silk Company, which eventually acquired the Corticelli Silk Mills. Paperback, acceptable condition. 62 pages, 12mo.
