Hardcover. Condizione: New. First edition. 149p., color plates, illus. "Dibujando la Geografía de la Patria" is born from the National Virtual Gallery project Drawing the Geography of the Homeland, promoted by the Presidency of the CCE, and its objective is to disseminate and value the plastic creation of Ecuadorian artists who outline, from their territories and realities, architecture, nature , rituality, mythological beings, celebration, ancestral symbolism, customs, but they also do so with contents of denunciation of the imminent destruction of nature and social problems. It has several objectives: to reach the homes of the homeland, so that art fills them, liberates them and allows them to ease confinement; disseminate and value the creation of contemporary artists from Ecuador and provide a meeting point for plastic artists to meet and talk about their creative work. This was done in conversations that were generated with all the participating artists and were disseminated through the virtual platforms of the CCE, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. All of these artists transmit their ideas and feelings through codes and languages of symbols and signs, which allow the observer to investigate the creative spheres of their universe and their life. The artist is not limited only to the representation of reality as a mirror. The artist proposes, is a critical entity of society, and also captures hidden aspects that are born from his eye and his sensitive hand, because he generates concepts, proposals that seek a better, fairer and nobler world. Public acceptance was formidable. All artists exceeded 12 thousand visits. This allows us to understand that the work we generate from Casa de Carrión has an important receptivity. According to the President, the purpose of this project is to maintain it even after the pandemic and hopefully after our administration. The tools that virtuality provides us, often misunderstood, become key to achieving goals like this. As the House of Culture, we are looking for the tool that allows the Virtual National Gallery to anchor itself, so that artists can market their works that they exhibit weekly online.…
