First edition. A scarce publication from one of the prolific pulp writers of the first half of the 20th century, Lowell Ames Norris (1895-1971). According to theNew York Timesobit, Norris wrote or edited some 3000 crime stories in his 40-year career with Macfadden Publications in New York. Norris was a newspaper writer with the…Boston Sunday Herald before turning to fiction. He was also the author of this and one other children's play, and in the 1940s, organized the Westchester Writers' Workshop to aid young writers. OCLC cites only 4 holdings for this play, a somewhat early biographical piece on Louisa and her sisters Anna, May, and Beth. 18x13cm, [1], 16, [1]pp including printed inner wraps. Ads at rear. Staple bound in illustrated wrappers which show toning and some light edge wear. Marginal staining to final leaf else clean internally and very good.
