Aggiungi al carrelloSoft cover. Condizione: Very Good. 1st Edition. Early Tin Pan Alley comic novelty song sheet music with ukulele and vocal quartet arrangements, featuring a striking rural caricature cover illustration by noted commercial artist Albert Wilfred Barbelle. The cover also includes a blue-tinted inset promotional photograph of vaudevi…lle/radio performers Phil and Eddie Ross. Rear cover advertises additional Clarke & Leslie sentimental and radio-era ballads. This example remains in Very Good condition overall. Light edge wear, moderate rubbing and handling to covers, and a few small edge chips and short closed tears consistent with age and use. Interior music pages are clean and fully legible, with occasional light pencil checks or marks to the humorous 'extra verses' page, likely contemporary performance-use annotations that add period character and provenance interest. The vivid Barbelle cover art retains strong contrast and color saturation uncommon for novelty sheets of this era. A lively Jazz Age rural-comedy novelty piece, the publication reflects the transitional period when vaudeville humor, radio promotion, and ukulele accompaniment were converging in commercial sheet music. Albert Wilfred Barbelle's distinctive illustration style - bold outlines, exaggerated caricature, and theatrical composition - substantially enhances collector appeal. Copies with attributed Barbelle artwork are increasingly sought by collectors of illustrated Tin Pan Alley ephemera, especially examples retaining bright original color and performer inset photographs. Albert Wilfred Barbelle (1887-1957) was one of the most prolific and recognizable commercial illustrators of the Tin Pan Alley era. Born in Fall River, Massachusetts, he produced thousands of sheet music covers between the 1910s and 1930s for major New York publishers, developing a highly theatrical style that blended Art Deco influences, caricature, and bold graphic design. Barbelle's work helped define the visual identity of Jazz Age popular music publishing, and his covers are now widely collected independently of the music itself. Edgar Leslie (1885-1976) was a major American lyricist whose credits include standards such as Among My Souvenirs and For Me and My Gal. Charles O'Flynn and Larry Vincent were active contributors to novelty and comic popular songs during the 1920s dance-band era, a period when humorous rural-themed novelty songs enjoyed strong commercial popularity in vaudeville and early radio entertainment.
