Neuware -Scientific Essay from the year 2017 in the subject African Studies - Linguistics, grade: A.1, , language: English, abstract: The place of proverbs and oral literature in the sustenance of a culture cannot be over-emphasised. It is quite regrettable and disheartening that these aspects of culture are grossly ignored and abused these days across many cultures, for which most contemporary members of such cultures know little or nothing in/about these indigenous knowledge and cultures. Bekwarra is one of those cultures, with the contemporary Bekwarra acting negatively towards their culture in almost all phases. This paper is intended to rouse the interest and attention of such peoples, not only the Bekwarra, to their proverbs, oral literature and indigenous cultures towards their sustenance. It concludes that it is imperative to sustain cultures like Bekwarra through these aspects of culture, which involves constant/sustained interest in, teaching and learning cum transmission of these invaluable aspects of culture across generations. They should be constantly preserved, and taught both at home and school.

Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - Scientific Essay from the year 2017 in the subject Theology - Miscellaneous, grade: A.1, , course: WOMEN AND RELIGION, language: English, abstract: Despite pronounced and lingering patriarchy and the contemptuous treatment of women as well as their contributions to the society and virtually all human endeavours, studies have proven women's enormous contribution to humanity and divinity. Descriptively and objectively, this study appraises women's enormous contributions to the Church, particularly in the New Testament era as well as in relation to the contemporary era. God, knowing woman more than man can ever attempt, created Eve for Adam's companionship, help, support and procreation and chose Mary Blessed virgin to be the mother of Jesus. The most distinct role the woman had played to divinity is her conception, carrying and bringing of God the son, Jesus Christ, to the earth for the redemption of mankind. This study has found that women contributed enormously to apostolic work in the New Testament in several ways. It recommends that it is high time we devoted more literature and other forms of arts appreciation to women, past and present, rather than playing down such roles. There is need to appreciate women for whatever role they have played right from the beginning of Christ's ministry through His disciples' apostolic work to the present Church's activities, well being/fare, growth and development. The study is anchored on the modernisation feminism theory, which rejects patriarchy. Qualitative approach, text-content analysis and both primary and secondary sources of data collation are employed. Several library print materials and the internet sources make up the secondary data sources, while interview, observation and intuition form the primary sources.

Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - Scientific Essay from the year 2017 in the subject Leadership and Human Resource Management - Miscellaneous, grade: A.1, , language: English, abstract: Poor organisational and institutional cum administrative performance and productivity in Nigeria and most developing nations are the manifesting implications of low staff training therein. This study scholarly explores staff (re)training as a tool for administrative efficiency and productivity, highlighting the implications of poor/inconsequential staff training. The study reveals that while staff (re)training is almost absent- very low- in Nigerian public sector, the private sector has lowly appreciable performance in it, though only but a few, particularly the multi-national firms alone, do so.In public institutions, the supposed funds for staff (re)training are diverted by top management officials for personal aggrandisement, besides the low budget for it. Most private firms economise their funds, if they bid staff training, focusing more on profit maximisation and most often over load their staffs, even with duties outside their professional knowledge and competence. Consequently, there are extreme poor staff performance, administrative lapses and low organisational productivity. The paper submits that (effective) staff (re)training is an invaluable tool for administrative efficiency both in Nigeria and other parts of the globe, as obtains elsewhere and proven by the findings of this study. It recommends that both public and private firms/institutions in Nigeria should take staff training and retraining very serious in their administrative policies so as to appropriately tap from its huge potentials. It was done using survey method, qualitative approach, simple percentage, content-analysis, non/participant observation and relevant library textual materials, following its nature, scope and pursuit.

Aggiungi al carrelloTaschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - Polemic Paper from the year 2017 in the subject Sociology - Law, Delinquency, Abnormal Behavior, grade: A.1, , language: English, abstract: It is quite regrettable that police personnel had for long dropped their core duties for the unusual. Corruption is synonymous with them. Civilians beget undue intimidation, harassment, extortion, injustice and jungle justice, molestation, wanton killing and all sorts of plagues from the police. The police have become irresponsible, extremely corrupt and a nuisance. They treat the poor differently from the rich. What is quite most shocking is the fact that all bids to sanitise the Nigerian Police Force have been futile. This makes one wonder whether the personnel have become above the law, or whether there are no practical measures to address the scourging issues from the police to civilians as well as the society as a whole. These and more have been attested by several studies, scholars and our respondents. Worried by the above issues, which constitute plagues to civilians and the society at a large, this paper rises to examine the plagues, and rouse the attention of the government, police authorities and all to halt these rising issues. It calls on the government and police authorities in particular to permanently check these issues through efficacious and operational legislations against any unethical and unprofessional acts of police personnel, sparing no defaulters. It also recommends that the Police Acts should be reviewed. The conflict theory of crime and the neo-Marxist political economy approach ground the study. The study concludes that police plagues are on the increase because the excesses of police personnel are yet to be checked appropriately and duly. The non-participant observation and intuition are the primary sources employed, while textual materials like journals, textbooks, monographs, serials, newspapers, magazines and the internet constitute the secondary sources.

Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - Scientific Essay from the year 2017 in the subject Communications - Journalism, Journalism Professions, , language: English, abstract: The pervasive corruption and unceasing bad leadership in and among the Nigerian press have for long now ushered in various forms of professional compromise such as unethical and subjective journalism. The press, especially their leaders, having been influenced negatively by the macrocosmic institutionalised corruption and bad leadership of the political elite and their like, are becoming deeply immense in these nefarious misdeeds and unethical and subjective journalism. Consequently, the masses have lost confidence in them, and receive media contents with outright contempt and dissatisfaction. This paper thus calls for a change on the part of the press and the government, for which the masses would follow suit. Although the paper relies more on the secondary sources, the library print materials, controlled interview, observation and intuition of the primary sources of data collation were also involved. It is approached qualitatively, descriptively and objectively with the text-content analysis too.

Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - Scientific Essay from the year 2017 in the subject Sociology - Media, Art, Music, Ebonyi State University (New Frontier Ind. Research and Publications Int'l, Makurdi, Benue, Nigeria), language: English, abstract: Until very recently, Nigerian indigenous music was silenced by its Western counterpart, following westernisation, globalisation and attrition. Music is cultural. And all Nigerian cultures have their respective music. Despite the recent promotion, development and sustenance bids of several artists, scholars and concerned authorities, the teeming Nigerian masses are yet to be roused towards and properly educated, sensitised and re-oriented on and towards indigenous music. It is against the above backdrop that this study has emerged to call for a change in these regards. The paper maintains that it is imperative to properly, constantly and adequately promote, develop and sustain our indigenous music so as to project our indigenous music, create a place for it in the globalised Western hostile village, and allow for culture continuity and national development. Music unites people(s) and allows for the showcasing of cultural identity, ethos and aesthetics. Therefore, to duly tap from the potentials/prospects of indigenous music, it is imperative to incessantly promote, develop and sustain indigenous music in Nigeria and beyond. This study is anchored on music and indigenous wholistic theories that are most suitable for it, following its nature and pursuit. It relied on both primary and secondary sources of data collection. Oral interview, participant and non-participant observation, and induction formed the oral sources, while textual library materials like journals, textbooks, etc. formed the written, secondary, sources. The qualitative approach and the descriptive methods were employed. Keywords: Imperative, Indigenous music, Developing, Promoting, Sustaining.

Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - Research Paper (undergraduate) from the year 2017 in the subject Didactics - Business economics, Economic Pedagogy, grade: A1, , language: English, abstract: The contemporary Nigerian schools do more of theoretical than practical knowledge impartation cum acquisition. The media also do/pay little or no attention to the promotion and marketing of entrepreneurship and technical and vocational education (TVE), which they ought to drive with their agenda-setting role. Graduates keep roaming the streets of towns and cities for white-collar and paid private jobs in vein. The imperative of changing their mentality cum addressing un/underemployment issues in some practical ways is why this work is put forward. It reveals that school curricula are deficient of the practical TVE and entrepreneurial skills education that could adequately prepare graduates for self-employment and job creation. Also, most graduates and other members of the public would have been widely involved in entrepreneurship if the media had duly marketed it, and if the government had supported (begins to support) technical/vocational education and entrepreneurship development. It also discovers that emerging young entrepreneurs easily fall out of their ventures as a result of lack of capital and the requisites skills and other harsh contending challenges. It submits that the wide marketing of TVE and entrepreneurship is the panacea for poverty alleviation and un/underemployment issues. It prevails on these state agents to begin to live up to expectation by extensively promoting and supporting TVE and entrepreneurship that have huge uneven development potentials and opportunities. The study relied basically on secondary data along with observation and intuition. The descriptive survey method, the qualitative approach and the text-guide content analysis were employed.

Aggiungi al carrelloTaschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - Seminar paper from the year 2017 in the subject Business economics - Business Management, Corporate Governance, grade: A.1, , language: English, abstract: The failure of both the government and the press in their supposed responsibilities to rouse the teeming populated unemployed graduates to entrepreneurship is the paramount reason for the current high rates of crimes, social vices and violence as the products of high unemployment in Nigeria. Nigerian graduates, especially those from the lower class, the poor, are now treated like nonentities that are stack illiterates. These underlying problems ground this study. The study is aimed at exploring the extent to which government and the press have roused the interest of Nigerian youths, particularly the unemployed graduates, to entrepreneurship. The study reveals that: the government of all levels and the press have done little or nothing to rouse the interest of the unemployed graduates to entrepreneurship; existing entrepreneurs of this class often suffer severe capital issues, which discourages intending entrepreneurs, other unemployed graduates, as the government only aids those who have 'people in Government House(s) and other high class offices'.It maintains (recommends) that the best way for the government to rouse their interest to entrepreneurship is to drop lip-service and practically mobilise and support jobless youths to become self-employed and thus become automatically detached from all forms of social ills, having taking to it as an alternative. Then, the Press takes it up from there by making entrepreneurship a splash to the unemployed graduates and the general masses. The study is anchored on the psychological or entrepreneurial trait school and the managerial skills school cum the economic development theory. This study concludes that until the government and the press turn a new leave and practically and actively begin to rouse the interest of the unemployed graduates to entrepreneurship, as a practical alternative, unemployment would continue to increase alarmingly, with its devastating menace. The non-participant observation, oral interview and intuition are the primary sources employed, while closely related literature formed the secondary sources.

Research and Publications Int'l, Makurdi, Benue, Nigeria), language: English, abstract: It is worrisome that the Bekwarra are yet to duly key into the potentials and prospects of Information and Communication Technology (ICT). Most Bekwarra people, like most other peoples of Nigeria and other developing nations, lack and exhibit negative (cold) attitudes toward ICT knowledge and use. Frowning at these ugly trends, this work rises to call on all concerned to turn a new leave- key into and tap from the development and positive potentials/aspects of ICT. It is high time the people, especially the youths, began projecting, promoting and developing Bekwarra culture, economy, politics and other embodiments through ICT, towards digitalising and globalising Bekwarra. The study submits that Bekwarra people, culture, language and panorama can best be projected, promoted and developed through ICT. The task is for those who are computer literate among them to effectively utilise and harness their acquired knowledge in this area, teach others and bring every bit about Bekwarra to limelight through ICT cum social media. This gesture will catapult Bekwarra to the apex of all-round development, situating her rightly in the global village to share equal/some place with other cultures that have attained such height. To effect and realise the desired change, re-orientation, sensitisation, mass literacy and attitudinal change are the first requisites, followed by effective utilisation of ICT. This task lies more with the Bekwarra youths, elite, technicians/technologists (ICT professionals) and government, while the non-Bekwarra people and Cross River State and Federal governments with such capacities and resources owe her worthwhile supports. Such other cultures must rise and do likewise to duly grow and fit into the global village too.
