It is thought that most of the pictorial scenes on hundreds of variously sized fragments of bronze sheet belong to the same schield as the large piece. Conservation of the bronze sheets is still continuing. The important information that is expected to come out of this will be published in detail at a future date. Studies on the 78 cm long shield fragment carried out over the last three years display innovation in Urartian art and especially religion. The important pictorial scenes aret thought to from a unified theme. Twelve deities are depicted in sequential order reflecting the hierarchial order deities on the Meher Kapisi rock inscription the main source of detailed information about the religion of the Urartian Kingdom. This is the first time that gods have been found showing, divine attributes and local characteristics, corresponding to those described on the Meher Kapisi inscription.
