A witty tale of romance and burglary in Derbyshire, apropriately ending with a poacher's turn to honesty. [The author is obscure, noted on the Title Page as "Late of Chelmorton." Ollerenshaw is a well-noted name in the area, but Quercus has been unable to trace an exact relationship.] This is a Near Fine copy of the First Edition. Quite rare! [No copies found online, WorldCat, Library of Congress, Copac; Hubin lists the title but has no information.] Gray cloth decorative binding with dcorations in black and silver; titling in gilt.Clean text, very bright and fresh; vii, 56 pages. Frontis illustration in black and white, and three others within. Armorial bookplate on the front paste-down and a small bookbinder's label [Westley's & Company, London] on the rear. Inked presentation on the front free endpaper has a pencil notation below. Tiny bit of rub to the tips and margins of spine; not a detriment, the condition is very close to Fine. First Edition.
