Divers dispositifs de collecte de données sur les conditions de vie des ménages ont été mis en oeuvre afin de répondre à la forte demande d'information statistique Malgré les avancées considérables enregistrées dans la compréhension des manifestations de la pauvreté et des inégalités suite à l'exploitation de ces informations, le constat sur la faible utilisation des outils de micro simulation dans l'analyse de la pauvreté et des inégalités en Afrique demeure. L'auteur du livre propose un outil permettant de simuler annuellement les effets de la croissance du PIB, de l'inflation, de la croissance de l'agriculture et des services, de l'urbanisation et de la croissance démographique sur les niveaux de pauvreté et les inégalités.
