Author Maria Beatriz Ramos de Vasconcellos Coelho, a researcher of the Nu?cleo de Estudos em Cultura Contempora?nea and of the Grupo de Estudos da Imagem of the UFMG (Federal University of Minas Gerais) analyzed the work of some of the major Brazilian photojournalists active between the decades of 1940 and 1990 and discovered how a particular image of the nation was built. Coelho also highlights the life stories of those professionals in their search for a graphic identity of Brazil.
